These Terms & Conditions (the "Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Lipton Coins, Fine Art and Antiques ("LCFAA," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing our website, contacting us, submitting an item for evaluation, or entering into any transaction with us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.
1. About LCFAA
LCFAA is a buyer, seller, consignor, and appraiser of rare coins, fine art, jewelry, watches, silver, bullion, antiques, and related collectibles, operating from Beverly Hills, California, in the same location since 1987.
2. Evaluations and Appraisals
Free, preliminary evaluations are provided as a courtesy. Any valuation, range, or quoted offer is based on the information, photographs, and items presented to us at the time and reflects our good-faith assessment of current market conditions. Unless we issue a signed, written offer or formal appraisal report, evaluations are non-binding estimates and may change once the item is examined in person, authenticated, graded, or as market conditions shift.
Formal written appraisals (for insurance, estate, or other purposes) are available for a separate fee. Such appraisals are issued under their own terms and do not constitute an offer to buy.
3. Purchases by LCFAA (You Selling to Us)
When LCFAA agrees to purchase an item from you, the sale is binding upon mutual agreement on price and payment terms. You represent and warrant that:
- You are the lawful owner of the item, or are duly authorized to sell it;
- The item is free of liens, encumbrances, or third-party claims;
- The item has not been reported stolen, lost, looted, or otherwise unlawfully obtained;
- Any representations you make about the item's authenticity, provenance, weight, grade, or condition are true to the best of your knowledge.
Title to the item transfers to LCFAA upon payment in accordance with the agreed-upon terms.
4. Sales by LCFAA (You Buying from Us)
Items offered for sale are subject to prior sale and may be withdrawn at any time before payment is received. Prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and exclude any applicable taxes, shipping, and insurance. Title and risk of loss transfer to you upon receipt of payment in full and (for shipped items) upon delivery to the carrier, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Authentication, Grading, and Condition
LCFAA relies on its own expertise and, where applicable, third-party grading and authentication services (including PCGS, NGC, PMG, and CAC) to evaluate items. Unless an item is sold accompanied by a third-party certification, descriptions of grade, weight, and condition reflect our professional opinion and are not warranties. Photographs are representative and may not capture every detail.
6. Payment
Accepted payment methods, settlement timing, and any holds for clearance will be confirmed at the time of transaction. Cash transactions are subject to IRS Form 8300 reporting requirements when applicable. Wire and check payments are funded only after the receiving bank confirms cleared funds. Returned, stopped, or unfunded payments may result in cancellation of the transaction and recovery costs charged to the responsible party.
7. Shipping, Insurance, and Risk of Loss
When you ship items to LCFAA for evaluation, sale, or consignment, you are responsible for proper packaging and for arranging insurance to cover the item's full value while in transit. LCFAA is not responsible for items lost, damaged, or delayed in transit before they are received at our facility. Upon written receipt confirmation by LCFAA, the item will be handled with reasonable care while in our custody.
For outbound shipments to buyers, shipping and insurance costs are typically borne by the buyer unless otherwise agreed in writing.
8. Returns and Cancellations
All sales are generally final. Returns or exchanges may be considered on a case-by-case basis where an item is materially misdescribed in writing by LCFAA, and must be requested in writing within seven (7) days of delivery. Returned items must be in the same condition as shipped, in original packaging and with all documentation. LCFAA reserves the right to inspect any returned item before issuing a refund or exchange.
9. Compliance and Identification
LCFAA is committed to operating in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, applicable anti-money-laundering laws, OFAC sanctions programs, IRS reporting requirements, and California precious-metals dealer laws. To meet these obligations, we may require:
- Government-issued photo identification;
- Tax identification information (EIN or SSN);
- Business documentation and trade references for dealer applicants;
- Written attestations regarding the source of funds or the source of items;
- Other documentation reasonably necessary to satisfy compliance.
We reserve the right to decline any transaction, in whole or in part, at our sole discretion.
10. Communications
By providing your phone number, email address, or other contact information, you authorize LCFAA to contact you using those channels for transactional, compliance, and (where you have not opted out) marketing purposes, including by phone call, voicemail, email, and SMS/MMS text message. Message and data rates may apply to text messages. You may opt out of marketing messages at any time as described in our Privacy Policy. Calls to and from our office may be recorded for quality, training, compliance, or recordkeeping purposes where permitted by law.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use our website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from website content without our written permission;
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the website without our prior written consent;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website;
- Use the website for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, photographs, logos, graphics, and design elements, is owned by LCFAA or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international intellectual-property laws. "Lipton Coins," "Lipton Coins, Fine Art and Antiques," and related marks are trademarks of LCFAA.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
Our website may include links to third-party websites or services (such as grading services, scheduling tools, or industry organizations). We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of those third parties.
14. Disclaimers
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED IN A SIGNED WRITTEN AGREEMENT, THE WEBSITE AND ALL EVALUATIONS, APPRAISALS, AND TRANSACTION SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS. LCFAA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. LCFAA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE WEBSITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
15. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LCFAA AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE WEBSITE OR ANY TRANSACTION WITH LCFAA. IN ANY EVENT, LCFAA'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO ANY TRANSACTION WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID, OR WERE PAID, FOR THAT TRANSACTION.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LCFAA from and against any claims, losses, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misrepresentation regarding any item presented for evaluation, sale, or consignment, or (c) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
17. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Except as set forth below, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or any transaction with LCFAA will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
18. Dispute Resolution
The parties will attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute by direct negotiation before initiating formal proceedings. Either party may elect to resolve a dispute through confidential binding arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration body in Los Angeles County, California, in which case the parties waive the right to a jury trial. Nothing in this Section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in court to protect its intellectual-property rights or confidential information.
19. Severability and Waiver
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
